Governor "K" Calls for 9% Budget Cuts Over Grim Outlook Report

State Economist Explains Budget Projection


SALEM, Ore. -- The Great Recession is "likely over" in Oregon -- but the state's top economist said not to expect to see signs things are getting any better anytime soon.

To add it all up, the outlook report released Tuesday showed the state is facing a $562 million shortfall for the current biennium which runs through next year.

I wonder how those liberals in Washington state have done with their budget.

I noticed camp rilea got some fed money although I didn't notice how much.

State jobs are on the block but Ted suggested public employees take a cut in their pensions? Unions don't like it.
The feds are supposed to help the teachers if we have the money.

How about if we fire some state workers and give those jobs to low risk non violent criminal inmates and pay them them 0. Transportation is one I can think of. Do you have an inkling of what state agency inmate slaves might be able to handle?

I would suggest severely trimming the number of people who work for those overbloated and over funded state agencies ODOT, Dept. Of Forestry and ODFW for starters.
