A grassroots movement (often referenced in the context of a political movement) is one driven by the constituents of a community. GRP does not necessarily condone or support the issues presented here. From: The Week.com: Can The Tea Party Survive 2010?
With infighting reportedly on the rise, many Tea Party candidates are going down in flames. Growing pains or the beginning of the end for the protest movement? posted on June 14, 2010, at 12:08 PM
With figureheads like Jeff Hazen, a Costco Assistant Manager and Art Hyland out front of the tea baggers around here I would say it is doomed to hell in a heaping handbasket.
And behind all that is the likes of a Richard Lee and his lap dogs that presumably represent the local Republican Party leadership?
Well, what does it tell you when "The tree huggers and hippies" swept to victory of all vacant county commission seats?
Maybe, just maybe, we will be smart enough, from this point, to make sure we leave "Party Politics" out of County Government, all local "Non-Partisan" govenments for that matter, and get on with doing "The Public Business" of all of us that entrust these people with that responsibility.
We've seen what trying to run a county government as a private business gets you.
The candidates who identified themselves as Tea Party supporters (Hazen) or said they were "sympathetic" to the Tea Party all LOST. This is just Clatsop County, but.....
Anonymous said... Hello! Like when has Clatsop County ever gone republican?? Sometimes the rest of the county had but the Astoria districts have always been staunchly fierce pro labor Democrats....shit, you clowns act like you havnt lived here very long. Oh, thats right, you havnt.
And it appears this GOB Clown has lived here too long not to notice.

If the tea partiers would give us the reach-around the socialists give us they'd get a lot more votes.
