Those Silly LNG Testimonials

Haven't heard such "Hokey" testimonial commercials in years and coming out of the bowels of "Energy Speculator", Bradwood Landing/Houston based,Northern Star Natural Gas?

Lady says she owns a B&B and her customers are demanding more "River Traffic" to look at while staying at her abode and that justifies her support for LNG Speculation and Development?

Local "Business Man", Steve Phillips says LNG Speculation will offer "Spin-Off" jobs, a new restaurant and stuff for young people, in essence.

The Construction Trades Union admits it already has an agreement with these "Energy Speculators", NSNG and it's a "Good Thing"? ........What would make them say that so emphatically?

"Swede Nyberg" declares LNG Speculation, with it's 10 -50, projected ends jobs is "The Cure-All" for everthing that ails us out here, "Good for the Economy, Good for the Community"?

And Helen McDaniel, a member of what she calls, a "Silent Majority" that doesn't say much but talks among themselves and have decided it is a good thing? Isn't that a "Star Chamber"?

Didn't Richard Lee use that "Silent Majority" thing when he was trying to save his ass from "Recall"?

Ands all this "Hooey" is going to assure LNG Speculation in Clatsop County and avert a successful, upcoming Referendum?

"Desperate times demand desperate measures" is in play here, it appears.

And what about all those "Spin-Off" jobs. Anybody got a list for us?

yOU ARE AN IDIOT

And if you think anyone cares about what you say, you're so very wrong.

The recent testimonials that have been airing are just a repeat of stuff that ran almost a year ago - your bring them up and trying to discredit them is just ridiculous.

Every single person involved in those is a respected member of this community - and yes, there IS a silent majority, which have been speaking out more and more.

I think Mr. McGee, that you are just grasping at straws.

And I think I'm the first person in many a moon to actually post on your stupid one-man-blog here, but I just had to.

Thank you - and yes, I'm anonymous, and I know you'll bash me for being such....Fuck you

Yes, the "testimonials" are ridiculous. NoStar is not above making fools of the naive. The underlying assumption of this ad campaign is that the people of Clatsop County are uneducated and easily manipulated. The overwhelming recall of Richard Lee despite the fact that he outspent the citizen recall committee, by wasn't it ten to one, demonstrated increasing awareness and intelligence among the voters. These ads just reflect poorly on the desperate speculators. How long will Matlin Paterson put up with this waste of investment money?

if you cant see what the "spin off" jobs are, you are hopelessly lame. Do you really need someone to tell you? If so, then it just goes to show how many of you newcomers to the area know nothing about the economics of the region.

So, for us less intellectual, how bout you fill us in on what those "Spin-Offs" are since you seem to know and of course you will not because you as well don't have a "Hoot-in-Hells" clue as to what they are either do you?

How about the list of "End Jobs" at the proposed terminal?

This will likely be the "Jobs List" for a facility Like NSNG's Bradwood Landing

Administration Manager
Electrical Engineer
Electrician
Emergency Medical Technician
Facility Manager
General Clerk
Instrument Technician
Longshoreman
Maintenance Mechanic
Maintenance Manager
Maintenance Supervisor
Operations Manager
Operator
Process-Instrument Engineer
Security Manager
SH&E Manager
Shift Supervisor
Site Nurse
Welder

19 jobs titles. I suspect some of them will be like 5 positions or so. 3 shift supervisors for 3 shifts (8-hours each). Probably a handful of welders and 4-5 security guards and a manager for the security department. There maybe 4-5 nurses for each shift. We are talking about a facility operating 24/7. There will likely be 3 Operators or even 4 or 5 operators.

The general deal is that the manager/supervisor position will likely be only one of with exceptions to shift supervisors and the likes. Some of the stuff like the office administration/office staff/clerk will be only for one shift in the 9A-5P time-frame for public related stuff.

So we are looking at 65 permanent staff. Or roughly that. Some positions maybe on-the-call positions where they come in ONLY when needed.

Good assumption.

This list is for Quoddy Bay, Mass. terminal.
