Northwest Natural Gas Co.'s annual shareholder meeting Thursday was considerably calmer than in years past -- no noisy demonstrators outside the Oregon Convention Center complaining about pipelines and liquefied natural gas terminals; no outbursts inside from sympathizers who snuck past security. This year, it was a typical shareholder gathering of a monopoly utility: quick, orderly, with a graying crowd of stockholders ready for the coffee and cookies to follow. Clatsop County Extends Deadline For Planning Commission Applicants

For the same reason we accuse certain members of the current Clatsop County Planning Commission of being the hand-picked progeny of the politically motivated "Lee Era Board of Clatsop County Commissioners", designed to ensure approval of a now defunct effort to insert Northern Star Natural Gas's proposed LNG Receiving Terminal and accompanying pipeline on Ken Leahy's property at Bradwood Landing, do we want to put this new Board in a position to do the same thing for lack of community members not being willing to step up to the plate?



What's the old saw....We get the government we deserve?

COUNTY EXTENDS APPLICATION PERIOD FOR PLANNING COMMISSION
Clatsop County is extending the period to accept applications for vacancies on the county Planning Commission.
On March 23 the county board of commissioners voted to vacate all seven seats on the panel and invite the current members and new applicants to apply for the vacated positions.

OLCD Letter On Clatsop Planning Commission Replacement Process Versus "The Law"!


The "Bylaws of The Clatsop County Planning Commission" of Clatsop County States Clearly, in-part;

ARTICLE III

Section 1

The Planning Commission shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by and serving at the leisure of the Board of Clatsop County Commissioners, each, to serve a term of four (4) years or until their respective successors are appointed.

Section 6c

The Board of Clatsop County Commissioners may remove any appointed Planning Commission member at its discretion.

Section 7

Any vacancy on the Planning Commission shall be filled by the Board of Clatsop County Commissioners for the unexpired term.
