Roosevelt's goals when he took the helm as president. At his side stood a Democratic Congress, prepared to enact the measures carved out by a group of his closest advisors — dubbed the “Brain Trust” by reporters. One recurring theme in the recovery plan was Roosevelt’s pledge to help the “forgotten man at the bottom of the economic pyramid.”

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS OCT. 12

Tuesday, Oct. 12 is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 general election for anyone not currently registered in the State of Oregon.
If you are registered in Oregon, but have changed your name, party affiliation or address, you must update your registration. People have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to update their registration and receive a ballot.
