And it doesn't include one thing about importing Foreign LNG to Transfer/Storage Terminals either.
Domestic
Natural gas is our country's second largest energy resource and a vital component of our energy supply. 98% of the natural gas used in the United States is from North America. But 70% of our oil is purchased from foreign nations.
Natural gas is one of the cleanest, safest and most useful forms of energy — residentially, commercially and industrially. The natural gas industry has existed in the United States for over 100 years and continues to grow.
Domestic natural gas reserves are twice that of petroleum. And new discoveries of natural gas and ongoing development of renewable biogas are continually adding to existing reserves.
While it is a cheap, effective and versatile fuel, less than 1% of natural gas is currently used for transportation.....For the complete plan click on thread title above

I agree, that being able to use our domestic natural gas would be a great idea! But if the enviros are balking at a simple 38 mile pipeline going from Bradwood to the Williams pipeline, how do you think they'd feel about an actual drilling rig in their immediate vicinity? Those rigs would have to go somewhere, and THEN, pipelines would still have to be constructed to GET the gas to its destination.
That is the issue, has been all along, which is why domestic gas has never been drilled for here.
As usual, it's a NIMBY thing
They are only balking at the blatant misuse of zoning, in my view.
Why not simply rezone that property for an appropriate use?
And then the real question arises; Do we really need LNG Terminals for storage of foreign Natural Gas?
