Commissioner Samuelson Responds;

Posted: Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Article comment by: Commissioner Samuelson - "Maybe I'm weary from this last storm, but I really need to ask the question of you Mr. Forrester, how is our community going to survive, let alone thrive in any way if you continue to spew such serious allegations, and extreme slander upon elected officials and others in this County. May I remind you, there is yet another storm coming tomorrow, people are hungry, people are unemployed, they are cold, and many of our young people are leaving here if they can find a way out...where are your concerns about that, and ultimately what are you contributing to this community with an editorial such as this? We have tremendous needs for basic things here, worse than I ever remember...and I've been here most of my life."

Commissioner Samuelson, why are you so concerned about Bradwood Landing?
If its slander then sue but you won't because truth is a defense.
Also why is the Sheriff out cutting down trees and helping in Jewell when you are complaining.
Again and again and again

Steve Forrester finds corruption in everything. Everything but his own home and business, that is. I don't know why anyone even reads his editorials. Either they represent a small town, small minded publisher who thinks he is so smart and widely learned he must tell all us hicks how to think, or he describes his last visit with someone he thinks is important. A person we hicks will never get to meet. Anne is right, he needs to let the Daily A be a community newspaper instead of trying to make it the New York Times.

And as it is with this site, NCO, DSM and all the others, it's your prerogative to read those musings or look right past them to be ignored but, somehow that's a very difficult, thing to do isn't it?

One thing for certain, long after our stuff has imploded, the Daily "A" will still be there dishing out news and opinion.

Doesn't Forrester have as much right to his opinion as you or I do?

Good point, Patrick. If we don't like what Forrester says, we should not buy his paper or patronize his advertisers. That is consistant with both the right to free speech (and to take the consequences) and the free market system. Great idea. I wonder what would happen if people did this for just a month.

The point is that Commissioner Samuelson works for Bradwood, not the citizens.

While the Sheriff is personally cutting down trees in Jewell, the Commissioner is running around Astoria screaming the sky if falling, doing nothing!

I really hope the sheriff is not personally cutting down trees in Jewell. He is too old and fat to do that safely, and he is probably cutting down privately owned trees, so the county will get sued. We can only hope he is politically connected enough to get the public works department to cut trees while he is at the EOC managing all the issues for the County. On the other hand, considering the qualifications the sheriff has to be sheriff, he is much more qualified to cut trees than manage a sheriffs department. Maybe he will stay in Jewell and let Paul Williams continue to do all the management work.
As for Anne, if you are better qualifed and will work harder to improve Clatsop County, you should run for office. Not many people are as involved and committed as Anne.

Josh is doing all he can to help the people in Jewell.

The DA is now delivering wood?
But Ann is working hard from her apartment in Astoria.

Josh Marquis is delivering wood to the people in Jewell? Does this mean he is helping the sheriff cut trees since he would rather do that than provide leadership in the EOC? Does the District Attorney know where Jewell is? This is hard to believe.

Anonymous said...

No, no. Marquis isn't doing anything other than the stupid job he has.
Ann Samuelson is personally ordering the people to call other people to do cut the wood.
That's the leadership we need.

'The Storm of 2008', Ann's next excuse for her next "Controversy of Persecution" cloud to fall over her leadership inability.

You think she suffers from 'Political Munchausen Syndrome'?

Anonymous said...

No, I think she suffers from the problem that we ELECT people who are WILLING to stand for election and they are not always the best ones for the job, but they usually try their best. But, what truly capable and good person would stand for election in an environment where their every action will either be ignored or attacked? You?
Even Steve Forrester opined that a person who has not run for public office cannot complain about what the people who run do(yes, its true, he did during the last election).
