LNG? LPG? CNG? What's the difference?

McGee - you really should remove this, or at least clarify that a later report said that it was LPG, not LNG on the train.

Marta reissued her story later, with the correction. LPG (propane/butane), is MUCH more volatile than LNG

There you go ANONYM, an explanation of the three significant processes.

Obviously you need a basic chemistry class PM...I'm not gonna tell you, it's easy enough to find the properties yourself. Look up the chemical properties of methane vs. propane vs. butane.

Propane/Butane was on that train. Highly explosive.

And gee, that's what happens to travel down Highway 30 almost every day in it's way to fill the various propane service stations in the area.

Fox News on KAST-AM is still, by the way, reporting it as a Liquefied Natural Gas explosion but, I have provided a comparison of LNG, LPG and CNG for those that question the legitimacy of the report.

Regardless, 10 people reported dead, 50 injured, 1000 evacuated and all three, LNG, LPG, CNG, under the right conditions will blow the hell up and kill, injure, and displace people and these are facts. You can piss and moan about the merits of each all you want and still, KAST-AM is still reporting it as LNG.
