Ann Samuelson's Comment Raises Just More Questions

Ann Samuelson said...
"Patrick, I will weigh in on your port question as well, I too think my district should have representation there, we receive very little benefit from the port although I and others have been working with Jack Crider and the port commissioners to get some benefit in District 5, and they are working on it. They helped in some trail building in Cannon Beach recently. Further, take a look at my website, there's a letter from Atlin Investment on it that explains how much I with Senator Johnsons help made the Northcoast Business Park permits happen in a timely manner so that Costco could begin construction on a schedule that was critical for them. Hazen couldn't do that due to his conflict as an employee of Costco so I volunteered to take the lead on that, and it went well. There are many opportunities we are all working on in Clatsop Co., focusing on one issue is not productive. ONWARD!!!!"

GRP: I am of the understanding that Ken Leahy Construction got the grading contract or was/is involved with this particlular Warrenton Costco's construction phase and I am of the understanding as well that this is the same Ken Leahy that is the proposed Bradwood Landing LNG Terminal property owner.

Could this be true and has it been put on record and cleared of any potential as being a Conflict of Interest or Collusion relevant to the proposed Bradwood Landing on the part of Hazen, Samuelson and Senator Johnson and others in this still unsettled and unapproved project?

Ken Leahy has also been linked(In an article published in The Daily Astorian) to Ex-Port of Astoria Executive Director, Peter Gearin in a deal to purchase Rice Island on the Columbia, upriver towards the proposed Bradwood Landing project to excavate and sell sand for profit.

How "I" with Senator Johnson made the permits happen?

Didn't we have the same problem with Richard Lee using his influnece to make things happen outside of proper process that got his ass recalled?

And now a principle in Bradwood landing shows up on a local project just conveniently touched by a bunch of politicians with fingerprints all over it, even one employed with the company under construction?

Politicians making permits happen is not the same as following the same rules I have to abide by to get a building permit is it?

The crap you get in your email
BRADWOOD PROJECT DECLARATION OF COOPERATION April 10, 2003 I. Background. In its effort to stimulate greater beneficial use of material from maintenance dredging on the lower Columbia, the Lower Columbia Solutions Group has targeted the Bradwood Project as a near-term opportunity for beneficial use of dredged material. Work on the Bradwood site, it is hoped, will result in resolution of regulatory and other business-related issues that may also be instructive for other future beneficialsites. A collaborative process was set up through Oregon Solutions to work on the Bradwood project, with State Representative Betsy Johnson appointed by Oregon’s Governor to convene the process. Partners include: the Oregon Community Solutions Team, Ken Leahy Construction, Port of Astoria, Port of Portland, Clatsop County, Oregon Division of State Lands, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, City of Astoria, ODOT Rail, Portland and Western Railroad, Columbia Riverkeeper, and the Columbia River Estuary Study Taskforce. The Group Facilitator is Steve Greenwood. II.Project Description. • The Bradwood site is a 50-acre marine industrial site in Clatsop County, owned by Ken Leahy Construction. A Portland and Western rail line connects the property to Astoria, the Portland metro area, and – through connections with other rail lines – beyond. Leahy wishes to have dredged material pumped to the site, then loaded on rail cars for transportation to markets.

Samuelson must spend most of her waking hours trying to defend herself. I hope her district recalls her by a LARGE margin. Time to get the "I" out of politics! Time to get the people in and the influence peddling out.

The crux here?

How will her or/and Hazen be quite possibly replaced and by whom to get good, sound constituent/people oriented leadership?
