It's Official!! Henningsgaard New Astoria City Attorney!!
Read Chelsea Gorrow's Daily Astorian Account
Without absolute formal confirmation and appointment, it appears that the Astoria City Council, in a special meeting Monday morning, has tapped attorney and currently sitting Ward 3 Concilor, Blair Henningsgaard as their prime candidate to fill the open spot for Astoria City Attorney, replacing Hal and Jeanyse Snow who have decided to no longer offer their services to the City.

With Henningsgaard not in attendance, Mayor Willis Van Dusen, supported by fellow Councilors LaMear, Roscoe and Warr and members of the Citizen Selection Committee observing, unanimoulsy voiced their recommendation for Henningsgaard over two other attorney firms in contention for the spot.

An Executive Session to interview, negotiate and obviously formalize their selection is scheduled by Astoria City Council for December 6, 2010 at 7:00PM.

"Front runner" is two words, not one, as in "frontrunner" in your headline

"Frontrunner", "Front-runner"(Alternate spellings of the word, "Front Runner") - A front runner is the political candidate who looks as though he/she is winning.

Regardless "Genius" he, Henningsgaard, will most likely be, as if anybody would assume differently, the new attorney for The City of Astoria as well as Astoria Municipal Court Presecutor.

Only smart people are selected to be members of Mensa. The really smart ones take a look around and then leave.

So? Is this some big deal or something?

Surprise, surprise!
Blair is running for Council...
No he's not!
Yes he is!
Oh oh...he lost...huge
No....shock....he's City Attorney.
Can we "conflict of interest?"
No, he's Blair and part of the GOB club at the City...cousins to
GOB club at the county until
voters got angry.
But hey, Willis beat a woman who
seemed seriously disturbed!

It's called team work.

Team work just like the Lee-Samuelson team....

I get it now.
All the back slapping at the City.
The cost over-runs at the sewer project, the pool, how all the rich folk get their zoning waivers "extended"....it's all teamwork.
What do you call Blair's humiliating defeat at the hands of Karen Mellin?

Some would call it a victory for the citizens of Ward 3.
