Skepticism Surrounds Gas Industry's Export-or-Die Narrative
By Press Action

Ten or so years ago, I was having a seemingly innocuous conversation about the state of “the economy” with a co-worker. The discussion took an unusual turn, though, when she went off the deep end. “I don’t care if we have to cut down all the trees and pave over all the land, as long as it creates jobs,” she asserted. “Concerns about the environment or animals should never get in the way of economic progress.”

and more lies

Would you be so kind as to point out "The Lies" specifically for us?

When someone uses the Sierra Club as a reference, you can be sure the premise is built on a false foundation.

The article also fails miserably to understand how simple world economic terms like supply and demand work.

The article is reminiscent of the same tired "corporations are evil and liberals will save the planet" arguments.

I give this article a solid FAIL because it adds absolutely nothing more than tired opinion to the equation.

I like the way this clown sets it up as his "Co-worker" conveneintly becomes the tree cutting land paving boogie man while Mr. Sierra Club happens to be right there ready to save the world from the evil people he must share it with. This article is real junior high bulloney

So, if it's an opinion you disagree with it is "tired," and the author is a clown, a liar and not to be believed. and yet the respondents fail to see how, ironically, they appear as the very "evil" they seem to think the author is fabricating. It would be funny if it weren't so serious.

And still no clarity on...."The Lies"?

Here's a lie ripped straight from this bullshit article: "exporting gas will mean more harm to our communities,” "

Oh sure. Right. Might as well blame exporting of NG for everything from teenaged pregnancy to climate change. You clowns who swallow this propaganda are naiive rubes

“Exporting natural gas means more than increased fracking across the country,” the Sierra Club says. “Imagine a massive network of pipe lines cutting through our state and national forests, rivers, and family farms to reach export facilities on our coasts.”

“We’ve already seen wildlife habitat destruction, water contamination and air pollution from this drilling practice and exporting gas will mean more harm to our communities,” the Sierra Club argues. “This is because the gas industry is exempt from many essential federal environmental laws. The Department of Energy’s own subcommittee concluded that major reforms are necessary.”

A Lie? Really Anonym?

You are assuming fracking is something bad.

If you understood the fracking process, you wouldn't be making an example of it. Somewhere, some goofy kid with a video camera makes a documentary that disregards the science and process of fracking and makes it up as he goes along.

Global warming alarmists and other leftist factions gave him the AlGore treatment.

You are also quoting the Sierra Club.
That in itself makes me laugh out loud.

Quote PETA next time. LNG will kill your pet.

Just clarifying an erroneous post made out of context and characterized as a lie Glenn, no assumptions made at all.

The lie is the Sierra Club's statement insinuating the gas company is rogue and is not regulated by the DOE.

That is so far from the truth.
That is the problem. The Sierra Club likes to cherry pick and mislead their readers with inaccurate information.

Well Glenn, I guess on a local reference in regards to the issue of NG are the relationships nurtered by the likes of "The Port's" boneheaded deal with Calpine/Enron/OLNG at Skipanon and Northern Star Natural Gas at Bradwood Landing, I would say the Sierra Club's insinuation, as you call it, pretty much rings true doesn't it?

I'm still holding out hope OLNG can put it all together.

Nothing boneheaded at all unless viewed from someone of the Sierra Club and it's "ilk".

Guess I don't make a very good liberal crusader do I.

I've always thought and continue to support making use of our natural resources and putting people to work.

Meanwhile, Barry Obama and his good buddies at the Sierra Club continue to demonize carbon and wood.

Long live the spotted owl.
Now go wipe your ass with a cold rock because paper and heat have just been deemed unpopular by ultra liberal commy bastards.

In your best interest of course.
