Richard Lee:RV Park/Golf Course Current Permit Status

Tuesday, March 4, 2008 - In response to a question by a KAST-AM listener to Mr. Lee as to whether all his permits were current on his projects to which Lee stated, in essence, to the best of his knowlege they were.

Clatsop County Community Development confirms the following information: "Mr. Lee does not have all of the permits required to complete the RV park. The work that he is doing at this point is permitted. We have issued partial site work permits for utilities only for site "B" and utilities and park model set up permits for site "A". Plans for the remainder of the site, the overall site and the required bath houses have not been submitted, approved or permitted."

So this would indicate that he was being truthful when he said his permits were in order for thphase he is working on now..right?

Yes,it appears so if that was what he said and you have the transcript.

I heard a lady ask, and you can correct me, if Mr. Lee had all his permits and he, in essence, said as far as he knew he did and that he had his lawyer working on it.

Maybe you can fill in the gaps should there be any and by the way, no accusations here on anybody's part, just clarifying information.

Maybe he does have his permits at this point but didn't the memo from the four county attorneys state that he was not in compliance with conditional use permits?

Read this current memo(Today) from County...."Plans for the remainder of the site, the overall site and the required bath houses have not been submitted, approved or permitted."

I thought the County had a process for dealing with developers who disagree with the building inspectors that did not require playing the matter out in the Daily Astorian. This should serve as a lession to all developers who disagee with the building inspector: all you have to do is act mean to the building inspector and she will whine to her boss, who will whine to his and then go to the newspaper rather than enforcing the law. Pretty cool way to go! It does cut down on the District Attorney's work load, but I would not want to live in one of those houses.
