And Who Was It Won That LUBA Appeal?

Any winners at all here?

In my view the real winners are the Citizens of Clatsop County by LUBA forcing it back into the Public Venue with lessons learned by all of us that will cause a rethink of this whole mess, maybe for the better.

NSNG cannot prove that Salmon Habitat will be protected nor, that Bradwood Landing is technically classed a Small Project, the two most critical aspects of the LUBA appeal by anti-LNG forces were supported thereby, efffectively for the moment, setting NSNG back on their heels in many's view.

A huge victory for all those that spent their time at all hearings trying time after time to tell the CCBofC that NSNG/Bradwood Landing is not wanted in Clatsop County and effectively being ignored, each session.

And now Oregon AG Kroger taking the issue to U.S. Court of Appeals to take a shot at getting the entire NSNG/Bradwood application tossed?

A devastating setback contrary, in my view, to NSNG's Joe Desmond's comment that they planned for stuff like this all along?

Big question here is how much longer will NSNG's backers tolerate this backsliding before we wake up one morning with NSNG gone back to Texas like the Calpine pull-out down in Humboldt County, California?

Problem now for CCBofC is that Clatsop Citizens are now savvy to those Commission Packing tricks to help grease the skids for that, as some say, Silent Majority agenda.

Wonder how many times a month "The Roundtable" is meeting these days.

It's truly amazing that Matlin Patterson is still supporting Northern Star, unless they've pulled back when we weren't watching. Risk is one thing, blunder another. These NSNG guys can't make it through the regulatory process, let alone compete in the world market. What we're seeing this winter is a professional snow job on their investors.

i think in the end a lot of wasted effort and a bunch of people will dislike each other over what will be for nothing.

do people not realize what is happening in central washington? i'm telling you, they hit the jackpot and it will come to be known sooner or later that the PNW has an abundance of natural gas.

mark my words - LNG is not coming anytime soon.

That's the crux of the whole argument and that is those trying to parallel LNG, a for profit business and process, with the need or lack thereof for Natural Gas.

Of course N.W. Natural Gas doesn't help matters much by trying to sit this out waiting to pounce on what opportunity is left to them for their own motives when they should be keeping us aware of wherein the truth really is on Naturla Gas futures.

Are we not supposed to be transitioning to renewables and sustainable energy technology as quickly as possible?

so why invest in this cost process of LNG technology and pipelines.

Couldn't LNG speculation investers get as big a return in renewables and sustainables, though maybe not as quickly?

Hell, quickly?

What is it now for NSNG 4-5-6 years now trying to buy this community for their scheme?

How much invested to date?

I sincerely don't think that a company and its financial backer would spend close to 50 million dollars so far if they didn't expect to win the fight.

They will win the fight, I have absolutely no doubt.

Why is it that people around here can't see that LNG is a worldwide and VERY active industry? I, for one, would rather have LNG than have a 600+ mile pipeline from Wyoming. Talk about an environmental nightmare!

And "g", great if they've got natural gas in WA, but if you think people are fighting against a pipeline NOW, let's see how they feel about a drilling rig in their back yard!

Our political and environmental rules in this county will prohibit any natural gas being extracted from US soil, not to mention the radical environmentalists that are against ANY infrastructure who will fight it, just like they're fighting LNG.

it's about economics.

i fully believe now that the two companies who want to locate an lng terminal here are part of a larger picture (with no intention of locating an lng terminal here).

a smoke screen if you will.

for now it's about political combatants jockying for position on their stepping stone to the next environmental fight.

things are never as they appear.

I think that pipeline is alreadym a reality but header for Stanfield, Oregon to intersect with the TransCanada Pipeline and it isn't Palomar.

NORTHERNSTAR NATURAL GAS COMPLETES FUNDING OF LNG PROJECTS.
Worldwide Energy • July 2006
NorthernStar Natural Gas Inc., Houston, a U.S.-owned and managed company focused on the development of domestic LNG terminal projects on the West Coast of the United States, has successfully completed a $100 million private offering of convertible notes to qualified institutional buyers. The company is committed to providing a safe, affordable and environmentally superior solution to the growing need for additional natural gas supplies in the western United States.

The net proceeds of the notes will be used to fund the development of NorthernStar's existing LNG projects in Oregon and California, as well as potential new opportunities. To date, the company has already expended in excess of $35 million on furthering the development of its existing terminal projects: Bradwood Landing located on the Columbia River in Oregon and Clearwater Port located on an existing oil platform 12.6 miles offshore of Southern California.

An article 3 years old, a hundred million dollars with 35 million already spent?

Wonder how much they, Northern Star, has left and things not looking so good at the moment?

That is another florid example of how this delusional pudknocker shamelessly generates and then mindlessly propagates dishonesty.

McGee, your opinion(s) that you place so much value on dont add up to diddly because you've fouled the waters of reason so many times that nobody will ever consider you a source of anything but static. You're a joke.
