And Why Not A Community Arena?

Now, hold on a second.
Before the naysayers start braying, it doesn't cost one thin dime to dream and brainstorm.
Why should we not consider a multi-use, flexible Community Arena/Recreation Facility?
Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma has worked beautifully for years with outdoor facitlities as well as an indoor Ice Arena/Tennis Courts/Racquetball/Physical Development facility.
Why, in Clatsop County, would not a similar facility work here?
Below in my concept for a base building that will serve primarily as an Ice Arena but is flexible enough for conversion for other Special Events.
A community that takes pride in its Scandinavian heritage, one would think a facility like this would be the heart of our community recreation.
Even Ireland has a National Ice Hockey team and amateur programs nationwide.

Two great big empty buildings sitting out at Tongue Point with Ice Making nearby?

Why would that not be a good place to consider putting that facility?

Congratulations, Paddy, you actually wrote something without any cut-and-paste. Good boy.

Hey!

Thanks!

Even a "Blind Chicken" gets a kernal of corn every now and again besides, my "Cut-N-Paste" finger's sore.

Your lack of "Subject Context" still holding up?

Who funds it? Does it pay it's own way for staffing, upkeep, insurance etc? How big of a population is around it? How many people use it? The City Of Tacoma is probably 3 times larger than all of Clatsop County in population.

You don't know much about Scandinavians, do you. As a member of a pioneer Scandinavian family let me tell you how thrifty they are when it comes to stuff like this. And the Finns? Do you think they'd be behind it? Well, remember the old saying, "if the Jews had to live in Finland they would starve to death."

So? What does that have to do with a poor county in a recession on the Oregon Coast?

First, will you accept the fact that the project is workable?
