The Hazen Campaign: Now, Wait A minute!!!

Did I hear this morning, at the end of a Hazen Campaign message..."This Message Paid For By Committee For County Prosperity"?

Maybe I am missing something but, I don't see any campaign finance activity on ORESTAR for either Hazen's ORESTAR PAC Site(#13869) Or CFCP's ORESTAR Pac Site(#13954) that reflects any contributions or expenditures that reflect this expense.

Isn't this stuff supposed to be reported and posted within a fairly prompt amount of time?

Both these PACs were formed and registered back during the recall elections against Hazen and Ann Samuelson primarily, where again, there were many questions regarding certain contributions.

Now doesn't seem to be a very prudent time to be raising questions about certain conflicting ties to questionable campaign financing especially on Hazen's part does it.

Can anybody clue us in on this?

Jeff?
Update!
Orestar shows some recent transaction activity (To 05-10-2010) on both Hazen's PAC(#13869) and Committee For County Prosperity's PAC(#13954) for you to review should you so desire. Interestingly, North Coast Retail(Developers of the new Costco and other adjacent projects) shows another recent contribution to Committee For County Prosperity of $9,000.00 on 05-03-2010?
And now, to make things more curiouser, Clatsop County Board of Commissioners has amended Wednesday's, May 12, 2010 Agenda to include North Coast Retail LLC, which plans to ask the citizens of Clatsop County to extend a $4.5 Million Dollar Promisory Note due on North Coast Business Park property for a period of two years, is it, that is now due?
Now, we will not even go into the issue that Clatsop Commissioner Robert Mushen's PAC(#14467) Treasurer holds two key positions with CFCP which is also a contributor to Jeff Hazen's re-election campaign and I cannot truly say that any of this is illegal but, would it not be prudent for both candidates to look seriously at the impropriety of any deliberations at all on this issue at Wednesday's meeting in the interest of the citizens of Clatsop County whom they serve?

Hmm... looks like the Committee for County Prosperity has taken fairly regular donations from Bradwood Landing, including $1500 in April and $5000 in December. There's nothing wrong with a corporation trying to influence a recall, or now an election. But shouldn't there be some reporting if they help out a candidate.

Oregonians in Action gave "Friends of Jeff" $500 in April. I don't see this reported yet, except on the OIA Orestar page. Maybe the donation doesn't need to be reported right away?

In both cases it seems like it would be fair to let people know who is financing these campaigns.

Why don't you call or write ORESTAR and find out? Oh, that would actually require you to do something, so that's out.

I prefer to give candidate Hazen and his backers a chance to answer since he, with their obvious funding from various and some might say controversial contributors,is running for a position on Clatsop County Board of Commissioners and if he is not aware of this kind of oversight from his PAC, needs to find out why, don't you think?

Why would Bradwood.....who's so broke they're bankrupt contribute $5000 to a committee fighting recalls AFTER all the recall elections are over?
Do we need any more proof that Hazen is bought and paid for?

Oh yeah, right...like Bernie Bjork is some kinda bought and paid for LNG blood sucking zombie shedding cash like rotten flesh. Lets see who's funding this Scott 'Richard II' Lee's little war chest, McGee. I'll bet some old ladies got the shakedown oh yeah

Yeah actually Bernie Bjork is one of the classic GOBs who helped steer the Port of Astoria onto reef it is in right now, backed convicted felon Peter Gearin (no that doesn't count the crimes he got away with only because of the statute of limitations)
Look at OreStar and you can see all the usual suspects who've done quite nicely when they were in public office getting richer (King Richard, Bernie, etc.)
Then look and you'll see the ever popular Bob Bridgens and the others brought on by Lee, Samuelson, and Hazen to make sure the Planning Commission overturned the county's professional staff on Bradwood and you'll get a pretty clear picture of who is trying to run the show and keep their puppets like Hazen in office.

OreStar is supposed to make it possible to follow the money and major kudos to Patrick McGee for doing the work to show that a defunct PAC is secretly funding Hazen's campaign.
There is a "Friends of Jeff" PAC IF they actually wanted to be honest and above board about it, but instead we have a bankrupt company that owes Clatsop County taxpayers almost a quarter million bucks that Clatsop County will never see, yet they donate thousands to prop up their shill on the commission. Guess they need to since the voters fired the other 2/3rd of the Three Stooges - Ann and King Richard.

I wonder if the Committee for County Prosperity is supporting any other candidates besides Hazen? For instance, who paid for the matching signs for Hazen-Mushen-Raichl at Costco? It's hard to tell from OreStar.

CFCP says the Nature of the Committee is to "support good works of commissioners asking community to retain."

"Friends of Jeff" doesn't show much at all. Raichl's site looks pretty straightforward. And Mushen shows numerous in-kind-contributions.

I noticed that Mushen's treasurer is also associated with CFCP...

McGee, we know you didn't write this piece. Lying about it only compounds your lack of credibility and dishonesty

So, Y'all tell "Us" who it is that wrote it.

McGee is a fake trying to take credit for something he didnt write. Never mind the fact that the writer whoever he/she might be is full of shit. Just another example of how dishonest and phoney the efforts against Commissioner Hazen are.

The Daily A got it right - if you think the Commission did a great job in the last three years vote for Hazen.
If you are disappointed vote to replace him

Why don't you just tell your vast readership who wrote the article?

All the data on this query to Hazen and his campaign group is clearly and factually referenced should you want to take the extra step and visit the link to ORESTAR.

You want to quote a few specific examples of this alleged "Phoney Dishonesty" for us though?

Considering you came directly here from, of all places, North Coast Oregon's sister Message Board, Dried Salmon Matters, you should have a fairly good grasp on what is "Dishonest" and "Phoney", so we will rely on your expertise to educate us.

Vast readership?

Your flattery is appreciated, your pettiness disappointing but, I average, at the moment (49) 5 Minute 30 Second Reads per day and (95) 2 Minute page views per day.

Here's A Link To Who Wrote The Piece Above And Thank You For Asking.

I'll humor your query again. Here's The Link To Who Wrote The Piece And Again Thank You For Asking

Providing a link doesn't confirm credit to the author. You want the reader to assume you wrote it but stop short of personally taking credit.

And "Nothing" it may be but, that is why we pay for numerous attorneys to act as Legal Counsel for Clatsop County and I would very much like to see one of them convey an official statement as to its exact validity status of ethics and I would also deem it the responsibility of Hazen and Mushen as well to address it for the "Public Record".

There is nothing illegal about a PAC that is supporting a commissioner receiving a $9000 donation from a corporation. But then a few days later that commissioner is called on to decide a deal involving millions for the donor. Did I get this right? If so then the question is whether the commissioner should mention this to the other commissioners, or even consider not voting on the matter.

Transparency is doing more than the law requires, based upon personal ethics. I wonder how Commissioner Hazen handled this.

Well, tonight's CCBofC meeting will be the appropriate time for Hazen and Mushen to responsibly address the issue, in my view.

The loan extension passed and the paper makes no mention of disclosure of the $9000 donation. But Bjork says the money will be saved for future elections.

Meanwhile the Committee for County Prosperity paid for an oversized glossy postcard for Raichl. I guess that we could thank this PAC for continuing to use Bradwood Landing to help Oregon's economy (assuming that the postcards were designed and printed in Oregon).
