It's The Law!!!!
Signed into Law, August 2, 2002 by Sam Patrick Ordinance 01-10 Gave Clatsop County Board of Commissioners complete authority to appoint and dismiss Board, Commission and Committee members to serve at their pleasure.
Here's a brief overview of the ordinance:
* CCBofC may establish any Board, Commission or Committee as "The Board" deems necessary or advisable.
* All members of any Board, Commission or Committee shall be appointed and serve at the pleasure of CCBofC.
* Any Board, Commission or Committee may recommend to the CCBofC, the removal of any of its own members in accord with its by-laws and this ordinance.
* CCBofC may remove any approved Board, Commission or Committee member from his or her appointment by affirmative vote of at least three commissioners. Removal may be initiated in accordance to county policies and at CCBofC's discretion upon recommendation of a Board, Commission or Committee as provided in Paragraph 3.C of Ordinance 01-10

They just elected them to do exactly what they are doing and Sam patrick signed the ordinance, not King Richard.
The sulkers are just mad because the specially packed Planning Commission has to apply like everyone else.
Name one election the LNGers, DA-haters have won in the last 3 years.......
