Tests will be provided from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Public Health office, 820 Exchange St., Astoria. The testing is by appointment only – call (503) 325-8500 to set up an appointment.
Testing is anonymous, and results will be available within 20 minutes of the test.
More than 5,000 people in Oregon are living with HIV, and about 275 new cases are diagnosed each year – but it is estimated that as many as one in five people with HIV are unaware of their infection, and this group is likely to transmit the majority of infections.
HIV testing helps prevent new infections and extend the lives of those with HIV. When people learn their HIV status, they can take steps to protect their health and the health of their partners.
