Democrat-Herald:Ban Gillnets For Hook And Line? What Do You Think?

GRP: If there ever were an icon to epitomize the Lower Columbia it would be "The Gillnetter" and now, ban "Gillnetting" in favor of "Hook And Line"?
Adding more controls to our historic livelyhood by making all Commercial Salmon Fishermen in essence, Sport Fishermen?
What do you think about this?

i hate to say bad things about republicans but this guy hasn't a clue. he should have bergeron give him a basic fish lesson.

pretty soon republicans are going to be trying to cure global warming.

Maybe somebody should take all he owns and give him a boat and some hook line and make him go earn a living from it.

i've found it to be how people think above aldrich point. i'm surprised gillnetting is still allowed.

it's sad that gillnetting has been demonized by those who haven't a clue.

So, the fishermen go from gillnetters to long liners?

Isn't that just as bad a bycatch as Gillnets?

They don't discriminate either, right?
