That Warrenton voter's outrage was echoed throughout the day Friday as voters signed petitions to recall County Commissioners Jeff Hazen and AnnSamuelson.
If you want to restore the people’s voice in our county,please sign a petition for recall.
About 500 signatures are needed in each district.
As one signer said in Astoria, "It's time for them to go!
Only registered voters from each district can sign that district's petitions.

RECALL JEFF HAZEN - "Whose Side Is He On?"
*Ignoring the will of the people Cheerleading for BradwoodLanding
*Wasting staff time and taxpayer money 67% of voters in District 1 and throughout Clatsop County voted NO to allowing LNG pipelines in parks, but Jeff Hazen continues to say YES to LNG. ·
*Ignored local fishermen, business leaders, and many county residents who testified more than 2-to-1 against Bradwood Landing during days of public hearings·
*Ignored the recommendations against Bradwood Landing made by the independent land use expert he voted to hire to lead county staff in analyzing the company’s application·
*Failed to demand that public safety, security, and emergencymeasures for LNG be publicly spelled out and costs guaranteed by Bradwood Landing·
*Initiated a long and expensive controversy with the DistrictAttorney with a surprise motion to deny payment of the DA’s customarystipend, which was established to cover the costs of supervising county employees and administering county programs·
*Tried to undermine the effectiveness and stability of theDistrict Attorney’s office by repeatedly and publicly attacking theD.A.’s competence, personality, and professionalism·
*Traveled at County expense to government hearings in Washington, D.C. to lobby for Bradwood Landing·
*Testified as a public official to the Oregon legislature againstThe LNG Public Protection Act, which would have required the state toshow a need for LNG as a condition for approving necessary statepermits for Bradwood Landing·
*“Forgot” to mention during his testimony in Salem that 1) the staff recommendation was to NOT permit Bradwood Landing, 2) the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals said that key points of the county’s approval did not comply with County land use laws, and 3) County voters voted 2-to-1 AGAINST LNG Pipelines in Parks in last fall’sReferendum·
*Voted to rely on Portland attorneys, paid for by BradwoodLanding, for the County’s legal counsel·
*Rejected and prevented discussion of another Commissioner’s suggestion to get an independent legal analysis of the BradwoodLanding findings·
*At public hearing in July, Hazen insisted that LNG would protect salmon and traditional gillnet fishery - and then said, “Is there going to be a loss? Yes, there is going to be a loss.”
RECALL ANN SAMUELSON - By her actions as a Clatsop County Commissioner, Ann Samuelson, has harmed the future of Clatsop County and its residents through:
*Repeatedly voting in support of proposals overwhelmingly opposed bythe public, and over the objections of professional staff.
*Squandering public funds by choosing to hire planning and management consultants and expensive attorneys but disregarding their professional advice and findings;
*Squandering public funds by unnecessary, unproductive and ill-advised travel;
*Undermining common values, adopted plans, established policies, and regulations of the County;
*Failing to be open and transparent in decision- making and development of policy, violating the spirit of public meetings law;
*Ignoring and failing to respond to the advice and concerns of paid staff, volunteer committees, and the public;
*Manipulating the membership of the Planning Commission in order to control the Planning Commission's decisions and actions;
*Endangering the public and disregarding public safety by failing to require funding guarantees for emergency services and personnel from major industrial proposals;

only the most naiive newcomers to the area could put any stock in this recall and the phoney reasons listed for ousting Ann & Jeff...they have the overwhelming support of the people of this county-despite what all these squawkers and liars say.
And that will be borne out by the costituent/voters of each commissioner's district will it not and show their true and aggregate sentiment by a majority one way or the other and do they not have the right to do soto be heard?

Are your allegations any more valid than the petitioners?
Can you counter those allegations with your own to prove them wrong?
there is not one nth of honesty behind this recall baloney. It's all just hot air and lies. Shows what kind of low class people are promoting this debacle

Sorry, dropped some crumbs in the keyboard.
It's going to be interesting at the least and of course, some will agree that every point is valid and true.
Still, it's the costtituents of their districts right to determine the future of these two should it go that far.
My concern now after hearing from many many folks in my district that the wedge that this campaign based on lies is going to cause a greater divide between north and south county, I've worked hard to bridge that gap and made some good progress, but then that's what these mean spirited folks want to do isn't it? The support I'm receiving is huge as is Jeff's, and as I said earlier, I was at the right place at the right time yesterday because of this recall. The other gift I'm getting the honor of experiencing is the encouraging words literallly everywhere I go in the county north or south. I for one am done tolerating the behavior and lies from these people, the silent majority is no longer silent. The money they will rob the county of for this recall that I would lobby to go toward mental health, elderly needs and our health department with the H1N1 virus upon us makes me really angry, THANKS TO ALL FOR THEIR SUPPORT....ONWARD!!!
Again, Commissioner Samuelson, please explain to us exactly that North/South County Divide is so we will know what you are referring to when you say you are trying to close it.
I hope your encouragement from the support you are getting is helpful as the pro-recall group seems to be very excited as well from the signatures gathered so far, ecstatic really.
Could you share with us those lies you are referring to involving the pre-recall group?

I'm not going to focus on their lies, the original petition with the character assasination/lies was just that more lies, just like the fallacies sold to the voters in the confusing lng pipe in park propaganda. I will address those after working with my team next week. Give Stubby Lyons a call or any Seaside City Council person, or a chamber member, they have no time for this. The county needs these recall dollars for basic services for our most vulnerable, I've been working on finding that funding with staff for months...so thank you riverkeepers for making it harder for me to do my peoplekeeper work. The two folks at the Seaside post office looked like they may have gotten maybe 10 signatures or so according to my campaign manager Marla Olstedt, the time I was there I saw people saying not so nice things to them. Don't have time right now to address the north south divide, but they are undoing the work I and others have done for sure. I met alot of great constituents though, and saved a guy from getting run over in the parking lot, like I said earlier, not bad for day one. I will fight this in a big way, and at the same time forgive them every second or so, this intimidation and slander just motivates myself and my team of supporters more. There's a facebook page in support of both Jeff and I started by a supporter..so game on! ONWARD!
