Hazen Breaks The Silence!!!

Election time

First off, let me apologize for the length of time that has gone by since I last posted anything to my blog.

Time as been in short supply over the last several months and I will do better at updating this blog on a regular basis.

I want to take this opportunity to outline some of the happenings in regards to the county commission. I will also address some of the concerns that are out there.......
Hazen on "The Stipend": "Many other counties in the state do not provide a stipend. Obviously this caused a debate that still lingers today even though the commission reinstated the stipend later.".... GRP: Of The 36 counties in Oregon, my understanding is, 23 pay an annual stipend to their District Attoneys for services.

Hazen;"It is foolish to say that we cannot ever have discussions with each other outside of public meetings as long as we don't have a quorum. If a company wants to speak to 1 or 2 of us, I respect their right to do so."

It's called Ex-Parte Contact, at the least and is not appropriate and a manipulation of "The Pulbic Trust" to deliberately skirt the quorem rule to assume they are doing nothing wrong when in truth they are betraying the Public Trust by not following legal and proper process.

as usual you don't know what the hell you're babbling about, McGee

Well, clarify for us then "Anonym", just what the babbling's all about.

I'm pretty sure that Jeff's comments about "meeting with a company" have to do with the informational meetings they had with Palomar...considering Palomar has no business in front of the commission yet, does NOT make it Ex Parte, no matter how you look at it. It was for information only. THAT is what your babbling is about.

Pretty sure?

Pretty sure?

So you really don't have a clue as top exactly what Hazen said?

How about this one coming from the Chairman of CCBofC, an elected, Non-Partisan commission:...Hazen Says:"Make no mistake about it, this is a continuation of the effort to overthrow your county government."

Yeah, it only LOOKS criminal and dishonest to meet with Palomar, it's not a felony...yet.
Hazen waits six months and now gives us this pile of dried scat?

HAZEN: "As much as I hate to, I want to go back to the stipend, because it really bothers me. This is a personal opinion and it’s nothing against anybody. It bothers me that the county is subsidizing a state elected officer, and I have a real problem with that stipend, you know especially when we’re hearing of cuts of other state funded things. When does it end? When does the county have to pay for everything?
Well, I’m gonna make a motion that we take the district attorney’s stipend down to zero."

Hazen's REALLY going to drag this horse out again?

"Many other counties in the state do not provide [the DA] a stipend. Obviously this caused a debate that still lingers today"

So, is Hazen going to drag this out....again??

Sorry, have it ask it here because Hazen is "moderating" his comments

Give Hazen credit.
He actually posted some of the comments from people upset that he keeps dredging up the DA pay issue.
But will he answer and say what he plans to do if re-elected on the subject?
That would be real interesting,
Back in 2007 he said he couldn't work with this DA and that Marquis had "never been a team player in 14 years." That's strong stuff from someone who had worked as a commissioner at that point for less than a year and what does that mean for long term relations between the DA, a county-wide elected officials who got about 7000 votes in the last election and Hazen who got less than 1000.

LNG is welcome in Warrenton

The majority of people that I have spoken with in Warrenton are in favor of the Calpine proposal to locate a LNG facility here. We have seen the decline of jobs in the fishing and wood products industry. The economic impact of having a facility that provides family wage jobs is tremendous for our town of just over 4200 people. Warrenton has long been business friendly and we welcome the addition of this facility. LNG has been safely handled for decades. One should not be influenced by the opponents "the sky is falling" arguments that siting a facility here will result in a fiery inferno. As with other industries, there are risks. However, modern day engineering provides for facilities that are designed to be safe. Controls are in place to ensure the safety of the facility and the area surrounding it. Others will accuse me of being a "paid lackey" for Calpine, but I am just a concerned citizen looking to the future economic well being of our town."

If the county commission was to go to a democrat majority, this guy Hazen would be announcing he decided to become a democrat in a matter of hours.

Is Hazen going to put any more comments on his webblog now?

It has been stuck at 6.

With so little comments he is going to get a big dose of whoopass from Scott Lee tuesday if that is all that is interested in what he has to say.

6 comments on the jeff hazen site and it has not moved since he wrote his stuff on it.
Yuh! You betcha!
The man can't face the voters on his own blog is not a good sign that he needs to go on for another term but, so it was in Warrenton.
