Democrats Differ Over LNG In Oregon

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A clear divide is emerging among Oregon Democrats in the fight over whether to build three liquefied natural gas terminals in Oregon, along with hundreds of miles of buried pipelines to ship the gas to West Coast markets.
At a rally Wednesday in Salem, Oregon House Speaker Jeff Merkley, who is hoping to be his party's U.S. Senate candidate in November, came out against the proposed terminals, which would turn imported hyper-cooled fuel into natural gas. He is the second high-profile Democrat in the last week to publicly oppose the plan, joining Secretary of State Bill Bradbury.

Republicans are all for it. Patrick won't mention that. Instead he's having another fundraising party at his house for the GOP, just as he does every election year.

Looks to me that McGee wants to split environmentalists from the Democratic party. No surprise coming from a Republican fundraiser. No surprise at all.

Well, this Republican isn't for it and with the likes of a Richard Lee at the higher eschelons of the County Repbulican Party, it does make it look any better.

But then, there's good ole Betsy Johnson and her minions right in the middle of all that "Profit Counting" as well so, go fihure.
