What kind of person would run for office in Clatsop County? We elect them, then turn right around and beat them up for every little thing. And they get no pay and not much power. We should require mental health reports on people who run for office here, because you would have to be crazy to be and elected official, unfortunately.

Yeah, you do, and those that take advantage of their public positions for personal gain should be burned at the stake.
And since the risk of being accused of something/anything while in elected office is quite great - whether warranted or not(just look at Clatsop County) why do you think anyone with brains should run for an unpaid public office?
