GRP: Was going to add some informative information to a thread on northcoast oregon.com this morning about a couple of Caspian Terns being killed on Port of Astoria property over the weekend and got this greeting....."The site has blocked you from posting new comments."
Obviously, northcoastoregon.com finds my comments offensive and not condusive to productive conversation according to its ethics but, I ask you to read the two existing comments below.
Freedom of the Press, sometimes, truly is the privilege of those that own it, isn't it?

What? These birds are like a plague, an Award should be given. We need a whole lot more of these non-native salmon eaters killed. I disagree with the method only because it is not efficient enough.

Oh for God's sake! Don't the cops have anything better to do than investigate two dead seagulls? I mean really! They got hit by a car. It doesnt mean it was intentional. Let it go."

*crickets* but Im curious as to what your objection to the two responses in the dead bird thread? I posted one of the responses--so what is wrong with it? I also have no editorial, business nor financial stake in NCO so your stupid comment about owning the free press is just another fine example of your dishonesty.
"Banned at NCO"??? "Informative information"????? Please, tell us more!
NCO is a joke site operated for 25 kooks who are angry that they've lost every local election since 2007.
And they aren't "seagulls" morons, they are protected birds.
Happy Memorial Day to those who served and died for our country. I am sure Patrick McGee would had make the same statement had he not been otherwise occupied.
McGee was "occupied"? Occ-u-pie-eyed is more like it. What, did his monthly prescription arrive early because of the three day weekend? Northcoastoregon.com is a wonderful media outlet that covers current events with tons more objectivity and clarity than any other local news website or printed paper.

Insensitve, at best, but classic NCO reader rhetoric.....in my view
Which phoney name are you the owner of on those posts "Anonym"?
"Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one."~Abbott Joseph Liebling, "Do You Belong in Journalism?" New Yorker, 4 May 1960
What's with that 'Tea Bagger' political columnist they dredged up out of Washington, keeps coming across river to stir up his crap and always seems to be preaching anarchy as the solution to our problems?
I empathize with you McGee, it's really tough when you're an abusive person in a community such as ours and someone sets some clear boundaries. NCO is a reliable honest news source, not a place for irrelevant rhetoric.
Two dead terns? Well, call me "insensitive", but what is the big deal? NCO is the only decent local news website in the area. It sure beats the daily astorian, both websourced and hard copy. Its because the people there are locals...not out of area young reporters hired to present that child abusing Forrester's skewered views and prejudices
If they go apeshit over a couples of dead seabirds, they'd really go into shock and awe when then see what we do to sealions.
north coast oregon is AWESOME! It's genuine local people giving genuine local flavored comentary on issues we care about and need to be heard about. No other news outlet on the north coast does what nco can. KAST comes close, but not close enough. NCO is the local voice
Well, NCO can thank the "Anonymous Family", for their usual support then. They make the same noise on the NCO itself, perhaps thinking somebody will believe the same "Puff" there.
Ok folks, let's knock it off and move on.
GRP is banned from NCO.
So be it and again, and more correctly..."Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one."
One more McGee.
Why all the sudden did NCO dump all those dried salmon turd hate sites off it's site last week?
Any idea?
I heard they were going to get some kind of grant money from some big newspaper.
Any idea on that one?
North Coast Oregon is coming into its own as the voice of the local people concerned about the future of our county. Sure, some people criticize it because it speaks up for the locals and their businesses and industries. They realize that people who just recently moved here dont appreciate that, but the locals must have a voice regardless of what the new arrivals say. As for McGee, well, he's been stalking NCO founder/editor for years. It appears she finally put her foot down in regard to his continuous harassment. He was given every opportunity to behave himself but he refused. whats done is done.
Funny thing with NCO is that it appears when the facts start showing up to expose it for the sham, some say, it is, this kind of stuff starts happening. I think as well that publicly and falsely accusing someone of a crime like stalking is libelous and criminal as well.
Maybe your next visit to the D.A.'s site, you might want to ask him about it. Tha't's usually right after you show-up here isn't it.
In the meantime...NCO coming into its own as the local voice of the people?
Time will shortly clear that question up want it?
Richard Lee's water carrier and LNG media sell-out as some people might say? If somebody read or listened to either one and took them seriously, it might matter huh?
What's the complaint McGee?
Here you got a website, so the oregon secretary of state says calls itself a news media operation that shares the same address as the Clatsop County head of a religious group that if you read through all the hype, some people say, intends to take over and rule the world and all it's people and another operation that wants to homeschool your children.
A badge of honor, if you ask me, to be kicked off that thing.
Congratulations!
